Campillo arose from a dream of creating a winery surrounded by vineyards, thus transferring the concept of Château to the land of Rioja wine.. An architectural space that opens to the Sierra Cantabria and Laguardia. When you climb the large staircase and cross its doors you feel all that led Julio Faustino Martínez to share his two passions, wine and architecture, in Campillo.
The grapes used for Campillo Reserva Coleccion come from the Villa Lucía estate, which is situated 650 metres above sea level and is home to a continental and Atlantic climate, which ideal for growing grapes.
After the harvest has been carried out, the grapes are placed into and incubate in tanks that have a 20,000kg capacity. After fermentation, various macerations take place for a period of 12 days in order to achieve bold tannins and the desired colour. Following this, Campillo Reserva Coleccion spends 22 months in American oak barrels before ageing in the bottle.
This is a very well balanced, full bodied red wine that has beautiful fine grained tannins and a super long finish
