Château de Mercuès wines are noble. Georges Vigouroux renovated the château to restore it to its former glory and to qualify it for the Relais & Château network. After the first harvest in 1987, Château de Mercuès became one of few ‘Cru hotels’ where guests can take part fully in the harvest and vinification process.
For four generations, wine has been flowing through the Vigouroux family’s veins. Owners of 147 hectares of vineyards in the Southwest France, the Vigouroux family are the specialists in France when it comes to producing and offering various styles of wines, from the plateau to the different terraces.
Tasting Note:
This dry Chenin is beautiful, brilliant and its yellow colour immediately attracts your attention. The nose explodes with floral and pear aromas, going on to release vanilla overtones with aeration. The wine is fleshy and very rich on the palate, with white fruit and vanilla flavors. It is quite round and has a characteristic long aftertaste.
