Description:
A modern style Rioja fermented in stainless steel and no oak ageing. Lovely smooth young wine, with bright cranberry/cherry fruit and some creaminess on the finish. Bodegas Valdemar are that rare thing: a Rioja estate where all the grapes come from the family's own vineyards (400 hectares of them!), giving unrivalled control over the quality of the fruit at every level. Esencia Valdemar is the name for elegant, clean, fruit driven Spanish wines.
Tasting Note:
It has a clean and bright cherry red with violet reflections. Intense aroma of black fruits such as blackberry and blueberry and floral aromas reminiscent of violet, with a background of aromatic herbs such as laurel and thyme. In the mouth it is round, fruity, tasty, characteristic of the limestone terroir from which it comes.
Food Matches: Especially suited for stewed legumes, dry cheeses and blue cheeses. Ideal with roasted or grilled meat, red or white, roasted lamb and cold meats.
