Located on the right bank of the Rhône, not far from Valence, the commune of Cornas constitutes a "Grand Terroir". Exceptional microclimate of granite soils and old vines that are superb assets for making great wines.
The vines are manually harvested and 100% destemmed. Fermentation and maceration takes place in traditional concrete vats for about 3 weeks followed by daily pumping over accompanied by regular and careful punching down.
Tasting notes: Lively ruby red colour. Intense aromatics of red raspberry and licorice. Allow it to breathe for 15 minutes and it will reward you with raspberry, cherry, tobacco and orange peel flavors on a body that is medium in weight with soft tannins. Really lovely and complex, with a good degree of finesse. Delicious wine.
This is a wine to enjoy today or will keep for 10 years
Food Suggestion: Perfect with a rib of beef with creamed potatoes or roasted lamb.
