Description:
This wine comes from vineyards in the Alenquer and Cadaval regions, in the mountains to the north of Lisbon, where the Atlantic Ocean influences the climate a lot. Soils are clay limestone and the vines were planted on average, around 19 years ago.
The grapes were de-stemmed and crushed after arrival at the winery. The fermentation was in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature (25ºC).
There is no contact with oak for Porta 6, so it is a wine all about fruit.
Tasting Note: Ruby red colour. Warm flavours of jammy forest fruit combined with aromas of violets and touches of spice. On the palate it's supple with chewy tannins that provide texture and length in the finish.
Food Matches:
A great all-rounder, but we recommend with grilled red meats, especially lamb, pizza, pasta and oily fish.
