By blending some Loureiro and Caíño with Albariño, Terras Gauda achieves a complexity that Albariño rarely comes to on its own. All manner of citrus fruits, several colors of apples and pears, and even a few hints of tropical notes contribute to the layers. And the nose and mouth exhibit not just honey but beeswax, a telltale sign of slate in the vineyards (just ask those Riesling producers). Drink now or in the next several years.
Tasting Note:
The combination of varieties is amazing. This is a highly complex wine with outstanding pleasant citrus aromas of mandarin orange and grapefruit, ripe peach and pineapple, combined with pleasant hints of orange blossom, mint and mild earthy, mineral notes.
